What We Do
We’re fighting for a future where every person has complete reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy. Our work across the Northwest provides opportunities for you to engage wherever you live! Join us.
Our History: Abortion advocates since 1971
Since 1971, Northwest Reproductive Equity’s mission has been to advocate for abortion access. Our founding organization NARAL was officially established in 1976, but community activists organized campaigns and abortion providers worked to administer care beginning in the 1960s.
Today, Northwest Reproductive Equity’s regional focus has expanded to include Idaho and Oregon. Protecting, restoring, and expanding abortion access remains the heart of our mission, and we’re growing more nimble and intersectional as we face the growing attacks on our communities and work for a future with bodily autonomy for all.
Our Work in the Northwest
Northwest Reproductive Equity works in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho to protect, restore, and expand every person’s right to affordable, quality, and unbiased abortion access and reproductive health care.
Washington
Building on fifty years of advocating for abortion in the state, we’re expanding our reach through community education, movement-building, and grassroots advocacy.
Oregon
